More billing control: overlap-free fee schedules, protected items and the new External Technician role

Billing work in a practice depends on economic rules being well defined and remaining consistent over time. Three updates in this release address that consistency directly.

Overlap-free fee schedules: safer editing

Billing fee schedules in 360Claims allow defining amount scales by range. When editing a range, it was possible — unintentionally — to create an overlap with the next one, generating ambiguity in the calculation.

From this version, the platform **automatically validates** that ranges do not overlap. If saving a range leaves the scale inconsistent, the system detects this and alerts you before the error can affect any invoice. Additionally, where applicable, gaps between ranges are automatically calculated as a default value.

Protected billable items

When a billable item is already referenced in an existing invoice line, modifying the fee schedule should not remove that item from the form. Now it does not: items linked to invoices are **protected** during fee schedule editing, preserving consistency with already-issued billing.

The External Technician role

Practices working with freelance adjusters or external collaborators now have a dedicated role from this version: **External Technician**. This role behaves like the standard Technician role in terms of permissions and assignments, but allows distinguishing in lists, dashboard widgets and assignment flows who is part of the internal team and who collaborates from outside.

The distinction is especially useful in practices that mix their own staff with a network of collaborators, where previously all adjusters appeared together in the same lists.
